ConnectMed optionally supports two factor authentication for improved security with your account.
What is two factor authentication?
Two factor authentication provides an additional layer of security that makes it harder for attackers to gain access to your account. It does this by asking for a code each time you login - this code changes every few minutes so it makes it impossible for someone to guess it.
How do I get started?
ConnectMed uses Google's Authenticator app on your mobile device. The first thing you need to do is go to your app store and download Google Authenticator.
Step 1: Download Google Authenticator for your mobile device
Step 2: Login to your ConnectMed account and enable two factor authentication
Go to 'My Info' and then click on the 'Security' button.
Enable Two Factor Authentication and complete the two factor authentication code.
Step 3: Next time you login, click on the 'Two Factor Authentication' button at the login prompt. You will now be asked for your usual password as well as the Two Factor Authentication code.
If you update your phone to a new model you will need to migrate your Google Authenticator app otherwise you will lose access to your ConnectMed account.
